This month we look at Japan's most unknown kaiju: Varan.  Varan made its one and only appearance in Varan the Unbelievable, although it made a cameo appearence in Destroy All Monsters.  Worshipped as a deity by the natives of Kunish Island, Varan is driven from his underwater home by anti-saline experiments conducted by the U.S. Navy.  It is killed while attacking Oneida City by the Japanese Defense Force.  The Varan which appeared on Monster Island is another of the spices.
