This month, the KaijuKing answers some more questions which have cropped up in the Godzilla series through the years in...
What Every Kaiju Fan
Wants
To Know About Godzilla But
Is Afraid To Ask
Dear Kaiju King,
Here are this months questions for your mighty brain to ponder over and
answer.
1) Last month I saw "Mothra 3" (AKA: The Rebirth of Mothra 3) on the Sci-Fi
channel. Has a dubbed version ever been or will be released on home video
or DVD?
No. And there does not seem to be any plans to release
it in the future, especially as "Mothra I & II" showed so poorly on
home video..
2) Is the King Kong in "King Kong Escapes" the same beast as the one in
"King Kong vs. Godzilla" and if so dose this adventure take place before
or after he meets Godzilla?
Again the answer is a simple no. The Kong in "King
Kong Escapes" is much smaller that his counter part from "King Kong vs.
Godzilla." He is suppose to be around that same size as the original
RKO Kong, which would his height at about Godzilla's waist.
3) If Zone Fighter met the current incarnation of Godzilla what would
happen?
Considering that the current Godzilla is much larger than
Zone Fighter, and considering that the monsters that both Zone Fighter and
Godzilla faced in the series weren't all that menacing (with the exception
of King Ghidorah), then I would hazard a guess that Godzilla would win easily.
4) Is Ebirah a lobster or a shrimp or a combo of both and do you have
any tips on the best way to prepare, cook, and serve one?
Ebirah is supposed to be a mutated lobster (not one of
Toho's more original ideas). Cooking it however would pose a problem,
especially because of its size (where would you get a pot big enough?).
Besides, why would anyone want to eat radiated fish anyway?
5) Will adding Godzilla Cells to my home garden help my plants or will
it just produce a bunch of Biollante weeds?
Probably a little of both. However the "Godzilla"
plants might start fighting with the "Biollante" weeds.
6) Why is Mothra's cocoon always take the shape of a peanut?
Because a basketball shaped cocoon would roll away. Actually
most real cocoons have that basic shape, but not all of them. In addition
that was the shape used in the original Mothra film, and the production
team felt that using the same design would add some continuity to the later
films.
7) Why is Godzilla's blood green in "Godzilla vs. Biollante" then red
in "Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla" (93) and white in "Godzilla vs. Destroyah?"
Dose his DNA keep changing?
Yes, which explains his condition in "Godzilla vs. Destroyah."
Originally mutated from the atomic blast, it is suggested that each
time Godzilla absorbs the power from a nuclear plant, it changes his DNA
a bit.
